Crime Stoppers of Savannah-Chatham County recently issued cash rewards after anonymous tips helped lead to the arrest of a suspected burglar wanted by the Savannah-Chatham County Board of Education Police for an incident that occurred on April 10 at Marsh Point Elementary School.

Surveillance photos from the incident, sent only to Crime Stoppers, received 244 shares and reached nearly 29,000 users on the Crime Stoppers Facebook page. Shortly after numerous tips were received identifying the suspect, a juvenile was arrested and charged with burglary, theft by taking and criminal trespass.

“Crime Stoppers is a great platform that works with communities throughout Chatham County and helps keep our communities and our schools safe,” said Savannah-Chatham County Board of Education Police Chief Terry Enoch. “I’m so thankful to those who provided this timely information because these tips led to the case being solved.”

This is the sixth arrest this year that has occurred as a result of anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers. From just February to May of 2021, the organization has issued $3,350 worth of cash rewards and has turned over tips to law enforcement that have led to the seizure of money, property and illegal drugs worth nearly $80,000. 

“Crime Stoppers has had tips lead to consistent arrests each month this year and this sort of continued success is a testament to what can be accomplished when the community, area law enforcement and the media work together to keep our community safe,” said Crime Stoppers of Savannah-Chatham County Interim Executive Director Brittany Herren.
