Senior Citizens, Inc. (SCI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people age successfully, announced it has hired Gerrie Campbell to be the Director of its Ruth Byck Adult Day Health Center. In that role, she will be responsible for providing a safe environment and engaging programming to clients with cognitive, developmental, or physical impairments.

Campbell, a Registered Nurse, is a retired Army Captain and has 40 years of healthcare management experience. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Armstrong State University and a Master of Science degree in nursing from Georgia Southern University. Originally from Manhattan, Campbell also attended St. Vincent’s Academy in Savannah.

 “We are pleased to have Gerrie leading our efforts as we have started welcoming back familiar clients and getting to know new ones,” said Patti Lyons, SCI president. “More than ever, the pandemic proved the significance of these services to the Savannah community, particularly to family caregivers.”

 Ruth Byck is a daytime program specializing in serving those with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias who require assistance and supervision throughout the day. The Center provides a safe and engaging environment for adults 18 years or older with cognitive, developmental, or physical impairments, helps delay or eliminate the need for placement outside of the home, and offers respite to caregivers.
