LS3P is pleased to congratulate Interior Designer Chelsea Jackson-Greene, Assoc. IIDA, who has received a Certificate in the Creative Placemaking Program from the Institute of Art and Design at New England College. This year long program focuses on building a strong understanding of Creative Placemaking to be a catalyst for community-based change and teaches various strategies to implement and integrate these concepts in creative and business-oriented fields.

In Creative Placemaking, partners from public and private sectors strategically shape the physical and social character of a neighborhood, town, city, or region by using arts and culture as a deliberate tool. Creative Placemaking animates public and private spaces, rejuvenates structures and streetscapes, improves local businesses viability and public safety, and brings diverse people together to celebrate, inspire, and be inspired. During the course Jackson-Greene studied and worked alongside a diverse group of designers, planners, and developers to study systems design, sustainability, economics, marketing, and urban design as developmental tools as well as arts, culture, history, and social justice.

\“I look forward to being able to integrate some of the concepts and strategies I’ve been learning not only into my interior design practice but how I, and LS3P, can approach a variety of projects from conception to construction,” says Jackson-Greene.
