The Salvation Army (TSA) has teamed up with the Coastal Empire Disaster Recovery Committee (CEDRC) to host a scramble golf tournament at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1 at Crosswinds Golf Club, located on 232 James. B Blackburn Drive in Savannah.

The opening remarks begin at 8:00 a.m. and will include CEDRC Executive Director Jay Mullins and other supporters who will speak to patrons. Then golfers will be dismissed to their carts and sent out on the green with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided in the clubhouse.

Various golf tournament sponsorship opportunities are available, including a $100 3 Alarm Hole Sponsorship, $500 F4 Sponsorship, and a $1,000 32 Degrees Lunch Sponsorship. There will be additional support opportunities, including the hole-in-one contest and other various contests throughout the day.

“We are so thankful we are able to safely host this golf tournament so we can interact with our community and get them involved in the CEDRC’s mission,” Mullins said. “We are also grateful to The Salvation Army of Savannah, our sponsors and donors for their dedication to our cause, and to the volunteers who have invested countless hours of their own time to put this event together.”

“The Salvation Army of Savannah is proud to sponsor the Disaster Scramble Golf Tournament that will benefit CEDRC and their mission to serve people in times of distress,” said TSA’s Major Paul Egan. “We are blessed to be in a community where people will come together to support the mission of each other’s causes.”

To alleviate the impact to residents in our community, the Coastal Empire Disaster Recovery Committee (CEDRC) seeks to prepare for, assist with, and recover from disasters. In the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew in 2016 and Hurricane Irma in 2017, Chatham County, Georgia, established a Long-Term Recovery Committee. Collaborative efforts between faith-based, nonprofit and government agencies aided in the establishment of the Coastal Empire Disaster Recovery Committee.
