The American Legion Post 184 will host a 9/11 Memorial Ceremony and award presentation for a local firefighter and police officer followed by a Memorial Motorcycle Ride on Saturday, September 11th at 8:30am at American Legion Post 184 located at 3003 Rowland Avenue. 

“At American Legion Post 184, we will remember the attack, America’s response and the aftermath of America’s Second day of Infamy. 25% of Americans were not born until after 9/11 and another 10% were too young to know or remember the horror of seeing the attacks unfold on live television,” shares Past Chair of Veterans Council Doug Andrews. 

“With this year being the 20th anniversary of September 11th and having the senior leadership of our post actually serving on active duty during the attack, it makes this anniversary even more significant,” shares American Legion Post Commander Joe Higgins. “Partnering with the VFW Post 660 Riders to ride through the City of Savannah to pay tribute to the lives lost that day and subsequent wars, is powerful for us.” 

Special Guests include County Commissioner Chester Ellis, Chatham County Veteran Council Veteran of the Year Jimmy Ray and American Legion First District Commander Casey Nash.
