The Savannah Development and Renewal Authority will award the Savannah African Art Museum with the Golden Broom Award at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22. The presentation will take place at the museum, located at 201 East 37th St., Savannah.

Each quarter, the award recognizes a business or organization for its commitment to beautifying the community be keeping its property well-maintained and visually appealing.

The Savannah African Art Museum is a non-profit institution that introduces all audiences to African art and culture. Their mission is to provide engaging experiences that educate and start conversations about the power, diversity, and spirituality of African art.

The Savannah Development and Renewal Authority is appointed by City Council to advocate for projects that strengthen the economic health of the greater downtown area.
