Savannah's Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia Looks to Relocate, Expand Through Grant

America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia distributed 20 million pounds of food in 2020, a 24% increase in demand, largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That increase along with limitations at the food bank’s President Street facility has led the nonprofit to set its sights on a new distribution center in west Savannah.
“What it will allow us to do is provide a lot more food and services to the community because we'll be able to accept a lot of food that right now we can't because we just don't have room for it,” said Mary Jane Crouch, executive director of Second Harvest.
