Step Up Savannah will be hosting its 2021 Annual Meeting, Equity Outlook, in-person meeting on Tuesday, October 26, at the Armstrong Center.  This year the focus is widening the lens of equity and economic inclusion. The work of the Racial Equity and Leadership Taskforce will take center stage as we focus on three primary quality of life indicators: economic equity, education equity, and health equity.

Step Up Savannah’s 16^th annual meeting will highlight the progress of the organization over the last 18-months. Additionally, the agency will review the progress of programs and resources provided by Step Up Savannah and raise strategic awareness around the issues that are underpinning poverty and hindering economic mobility in our community

“At Step Up, we have been hard at work ensuring that our programs are centered on research-based best practices, are producing real-time community outcomes, and remain relevant to our dynamic economic environment. Now more than ever, we are committed to scaling up our efforts to create enduring solutions to economic disparity in our beloved city,” said Alicia M. Johnson, executive director.

The annual meeting will feature guest speakers from the REAL Task Force, including Dr. Otis Johnson, Dr. Erika Tate, Armand Turner, and Step Up Savannah’s Executive Director, Alicia Johnson. The REAL Task Force has worked diligently over the last year to research and deliver data-driven findings on racial inequities in the community surrounding six major issue areas, including criminal justice, economic mobility, education, environmental justice, health, and housing.
