The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce recently earned the Georgia Certified Chamber designation from the Georgia Association of Chamber Executives (GACCE). Only 50 chambers out of more than 150 statewide have been recognized with this distinction. The GACCE presented the Effingham Chamber with a plaque commemorating the designation at its conference in Augusta in November.

The Certified Chamber program was created to facilitate continuing excellence in the chamber of commerce industry and to foster a pro-business environment across the State of Georgia. Chambers must meet high standards for organization, service to their members, professional administration, financial management, communications, and advocacy to achieve the designation. Chambers must renew their certification every five years to ensure they continue to follow the top organizational standards.

“This designation is the result of the chamber Board of Directors’ dedication over the past several years to serving our members with professionalism and integrity and by following the best practices in the chamber of commerce field,” said Chief Executive Officer Andy Cripps.

“That commitment among the chamber’s leadership was evident when I first interviewed to join the Effingham Chamber as CEO in 2019 and continues today. It’s an honor for me to be part of such an influential and effective business and community development organization in such a vibrant and prosperous community,” Cripps added.
