Georgia Power Employees Support PACK Savannah Food Drive With $3,000 Worth of Children’s Snacks

Employees from Georgia Power in Savannah made a difference this holiday season by fulfilling a critical need from PACK Savannah – a nonprofit dedicated to fighting childhood hunger in the community.

“We received a last-minute call from PACK that they were completely out of children’s snacks,” said Jimmy Brown with the local Citizens of Georgia Power volunteer employee chapter. “With a few calls and some quick hands-on deck, we were able to purchase and donate over 300 bulk package snack items. It is an honor and joy to see these amazing blessings come together to make a difference for the community we live in.”

The snacks – worth approximately $3,000 – fulfill an important need in the area as many schools prepare for winter break and families prepare for the holidays.

With more than 40 chapters statewide, Citizens of Georgia Power - the employee volunteer arm of the company – gives back to their local communities through in-person and virtual volunteer projects, fundraisers, and donations. In 2020, Citizens’ members logged more than 55,000 hours of service equal to $1.5 million.
