Grand Lake Club at Southbridge Received 475 Turkeys From CMA CGM, Held Drive-Thru Giveaway
Wednesday, December 1st, 2021
Grand Lake Club was given 475 free turkeys from CMA CGM, an international container, transportation and shipping company early Wednesday morning at the Grand Lake Clubhouse, located at 815 Southbridge Blvd., Savannah.
“I received a call late Tuesday night telling me that there was a surplus of turkeys left over from Carl Gilliard’s incredible Feed the Hungry event at Memorial Stadium. We spoke with Amber Leonard, the Director of Corporate Communications for CMA CGM and assured her that we would be able to distribute a container of turkeys if they could deliver them to us the next morning,” said Grand Lake Club General Manager Tara O’Sullivan.
“Making calls to our first responders, veterans and non-profits, we, along with Step One Automotive Group, delivered car and truck loads to the American Legion Post 184, truckers at Veteran Carriers, the dispatchers at 911 Chatham County, the Pooler, Garden City, Pt. Wentworth Police Department, SFD Station 2 and Pooler Fire Department and Savannah Center for the Blind and Low Vision- we also offered a drive thru pickup for anyone in need,” explained O’Sullivan. “Being able to live up to our ‘core of the community’ philosophy has been the absolute best part of my job and giving to the people that protect, serve and care for us is a blessing.”
