Calling all Savannah CEO's to Join Habitat For Humanity Day of Service

Wednesday, January 26th, 2022

Calling  all  CEOs  in  and  around  the  Coastal  Empire  to  take part  in  Habitat  for  Humanity’s  Day  of  Service  on  Tuesday,  February  22,  in  the Woodville-Thompkins  neighborhood.  Business  leaders  Sam  McCachern  (President/CEO, Thomas  &  Hutton)  and  Michael  Owens  (President/CEO,  The  Tourism  Leadership  Council)  are seeking  additional  CEOs  to  join  in  this  day  of  service  for  the  community.

This  year’s  CEO  Build  will  have  participants  from  around  the  region  working  together  to  build three  houses,  all  in  different  stages  of  completion.  Duties  include  framing,  exterior  siding,  and interior  work.  Volunteering  alongside  community  business  leaders,  this  day  of  service  doubles as  a  fundraiser.  Attendees  are  asked  to  contribute  $1,000  to  Habitat  for  Humanity  of  the  Coastal Empire.

Zerik  Samples,  CEO  of  Habitat  for  Humanity,  is  coordinating  the  day  and  will  be  on-site  working alongside  volunteers.  Samples  stated,    “Mayor  Johnson  has  put  together  a  charge  to  close  the 21,000  housing  deficiency  gap  in  the  next  10  years.  While  our  local  government  is  putting together  an  effort,  it  is  my  plea  to  unite  for-profits  and  nonprofits  so  that  together  we  are  able  to fulfill  our  Habitat  mantra  of  ‘Let's  Build  Together.’  It  truly  does  take  a  village  and  I  thank  each  and every  CEO  in  advance  for  joining  in  this  effort.”  The  day  will  begin  at  8:30  am  and  lunch  will  be provided.  For  additional  information  and  to  sign  up,  visit Coastal  Empire  Habitat  for  Humanity CEO Build.
