The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) is honored to announce that talented SCAD students and alumni were awarded the most wins of any university or organization worldwide this year at the International Design Awards (IDA).  

Founded in 2007, the IDA was started by a collective of international designers, thinkers and entrepreneurs to celebrate smart and sustainable multidisciplinary designs. Every year the IDA celebrates visionaries of design and emerging talent from around the world in the categories of interior design, architecture, fashion design, product design, and graphic design. Submissions are judged on an array of criteria including aesthetics, functionality, innovation, ergonomics and durability. For 2021, SCAD had another record-breaking year of awards wins and recognition with SCAD students and alumni honored with a total of 117 awards, the most wins for any university. 

In addition to the university’s record-breaking wins, three SCAD students were named as “IDA Emerging Designers of the Year” in their respective categories: Crystal Martin (M.F.A., interior design, 2021) as Emerging Interior Designer of the Year, Nora Bukhari as Emerging Graphic Designer of the Year,  and Mateo Mantilla (M.Arch, 2022) as Emerging Architectural Designer of the Year. 

SCAD celebrates the 2021 IDA winners and this international recognition as a testament to the supreme talents of SCAD students and the university as the global leader in higher education for creativity and innovation.
