Frank Callen BGC x St. Peter's Episcopal Church 21st Annual Fundraiser

Friday, February 4th, 2022

The Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club (FCBGC) will be one of the grateful recipients of proceeds raised by St. Peter’s Episcopal Church during their 21st annual fundraiser, The Market at 3 West Ridge. The Market is a boutique trunk show and plant sale that features carefully selected vendors from across the country offering unique merchandise, including personal apparel for the whole family and fabulous items for home and garden. Over the past five years, The Market has grown in credibility with national vendors and in popularity and with over 800 women and men attending and shopping annually.

Determined to raise monies to support at-risk children’s charities in the Savannah area, the women of St. Peter’s were committed to coming up with a fresh fundraising idea to invigorate donors and volunteers. So, in 2012, the first trunk show, The Market at 3 West Ridge at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church debuted. Each year, twenty handpicked national vendors are selected to display and sell their boutique goods for sale including stylish and unique clothing and accessories for women, men and children, unusual home decorative and garden accessories, linens, and classic and contemporary jewelry, for this two-and-a-half-day event. The Market also includes a vibrant spring plant sale.

“We thank St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and their generous gift to the Boys & Girls Club. We are thrilled to have their support. And through their donation we will be able to accomplish our programming goals and continue working towards expanding our services. This truly makes a difference for us, and we are extremely grateful!” says Al Wright, FCBGC Board Committee Chair.

This comes right on the heels of the FCBGC announcing the acquisition of a 15-acre property on ACL Blvd as part of the Club's strategic plan to serve up to 1000 youth per day throughout the greater Savannah area. Plans call for development of a 35,000 – 40,000 square foot facility that will include a gym, pool, technology center, commercial kitchen, play fields and many more program amenities. The facility will serve up to 500 youth per day and will also be available for community programming during non-youth service hours.

The Market (https://www.saintpeterssav.org/the-market-at-3-west-ridge) opens on Tuesday, Feb. 8th, with shopping from 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm. Festivities continue on Wednesday, Feb 9th from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm and then finally on Thursday, Feb 10th from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. St. Peter’s Episcopal Church is located at 3 Westridge Road, Savannah, GA 31411.

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church (https://www.saintpeterssav.org/) From the beginning of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in 1995, outreach has been central to the church’s mission. In 1996, the Rector urged The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) “to serve the wider community beyond our doors and build fellowship with the congregation.” The ECW voted that the fundraising should support charities that benefit at-risk children in Savannah.

The Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club (https://bgcsavannah.org/) provides a place where all youth, no matter their circumstances, can make great discoveries about themselves and engage in educational and recreational activities. Our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. And it’s all done in a safe environment and led by positive role models and leaders.
