Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of the Coastal Empire launched the new RMHC Hospitality Cart Program on Monday, February 14, in the Dwaine & Cynthia Willett Children's Hospital of Savannah. It is the first RMHC Hospitality Cart in the Coastal Empire.

The RMH Hospitality Cart is a collaboration between RMH, The One Hundred Children’s Foundation and the Children’s Hospital to provides inpatient children and their caregivers with toiletries, snacks, and activities such as crafts and games to help pass the time and brighten their days. RMH Staff & volunteers from the hospital will take the cart several times a week to each unit of the pediatric hospital to distribute the items at no cost.

Sponsored by a grant from The One Hundred Children’s Foundation, the Hospitality Cart is an extension of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Family Room which is located at Memorial Hospital now serving the NICU. The Family Room allows visitors of patients to grab a meal, take a shower, watch television, and simply rest for a moment while being only steps away from their child receiving care.

“The Cart program is unique in the Coastal Empire, and we’re pleased that Ronald McDonald House is bringing it to those that need it the most. The small comforts that the Cart provides mean so much to the kids and families in the hospital and can make a difficult time a little brighter,” said Ann Walker of the One Hundred Children’s Foundation.
