'We're Selling Away Savannah': Housing Costs Surge as Renters, Landlords Scramble

Tahir Pleasant came home from a night out to a piece of paper taped to his door. It was an eviction notice.
"On my m— birthday and everything," the 24-year-old Savannah native said. Rent at his 36th Street apartment was going up an additional $400 a month. Pleasant said he did not receive a move-out notice before he was served.
