Successful Return of Savannah St. Patrick's Day Promises Healthy Future

Many thousands of people enjoyed the first St. Patrick’s Day parade since 2019, but turnout was lower than I expected.
I had assumed that pent-up demand for St. Patrick’s Day and for public gatherings generally would prompt area residents to flood into the city for the parade and for the partying afterward. Despite the glorious weather, the sidewalks near my usual vantage on Abercorn Street were noticeably less crowded than in most years. I heard similar reports from other spots on the route.
