First Tee Career Day Presented by Roann Development Group and the Dentistry For Children Junior Clinic Presented by Birdie Ball Benefit Area Youth and Provide Day of Learning and Fun
Tuesday, March 1st, 2022
Officials of the Club Car Championship at The Landings Club announced today the details surrounding two of the tournament’s initiatives benefiting Savannah-area youth during the 2022 event. The First Tee Career Day presented by Roann Development Group and the Dentistry For Children Junior Clinic presented by Birdie Ball will both be held on Monday, March 28, and provide a day of learning and fun for area youth to kick off tournament week.
The inaugural First Tee Career Day presented by Roann Development Group will welcome members of First Tee Savannah to The Landings Club, Deer Creek Course, for a look behind the scenes at a professional golf tournament and a chance to explore the many career opportunities available in the golf and club management industries. Participants will experience a cooking class, agronomy session, tour of The Landings Club Wellness Center, golf club repair session, and more. Attendance for the First Tee Career Day is available by invitation only. For information, please email [email protected]
“The mission of First Tee is about far more than just introducing the game of golf,” said Ben Robbins, First Tee Savannah’s executive director. “We want to enable kids and students to build the strength of character that empowers them through life, and a career day like this pulls back the curtain and opens up a world of possibilities for their careers they may have never known existed. By allowing our students this opportunity, the Club Car Championship is creating an educational event few tournaments have offered, and I think it has the potential to change the trajectory of a student’s future in a powerful way.”
“We are passionate about the importance and impact of workforce development, and we believe in supporting the success of the next generation of workforce leaders,” said Roann founder, Kyle Evans. “First Tee is an organization that aligns well with our company goals and values, and we are thrilled to be the presenting sponsor of their Career Day at the Club Car Championship.”
The fourth annual Dentistry For Children Junior Clinic presented by Birdie Ball takes place on Monday, March 28, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Deer Creek Course. Kids aged 17 and under are welcome to attend this free event open to the public. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. To register visit https://www.
The Junior Clinic will feature hands-on learning and activities with Korn Ferry Tour professionals, including inflatable targets and stations for chipping, putting and full swing instruction. Participants will also enjoy an appearance by Savannah magician Magic Marc, complimentary food and beverage, and a goodie bag.
“Dentistry For Children is a big supporter of local athletic events, especially when we can sponsor a youth program, golf, and Magic Marc all at the same time,” said Dr. H. Byron Colley III, D.M.D. “Golf, like excellent oral hygiene, requires patience, precision, and consistency.”
The Club Car Championship at The Landings Club is March 28 – April 3, 2022, at The Landings Club, Deer Creek Course.
