Between March 6, 2022, and March 12, 2022, local Savannah women in construction will celebrate National Women in Construction Week. This year the local chapter of the national NAWIC organization has partnered with Habitat for Humanity Savannah to produce a full week of events and activities for members and the community to get involved in, including but not limited to: kick-off event at Alair Homes Savannah location, a breakfast to learn about the entire process a family goes through to become owners of a Habitat for Humanity home, a “Women Build Day,” a cocktail hour women leader panel to discuss the panel participants’ experiences and how they paved the way with lots of inspirational chatter on breaking the glass ceiling, hard hat tours at various job sites and last, but not least, their presentation of scholarships to local schools that focus on the construction industry (Windsor Forest Highschool and Savannah Technical College).
