The Savannah St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee will serve Union Mission clients a special “green” breakfast at Grace House (120 Fahm Street) on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 7:00 – 8:00am.

"The Savannah St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee feels an obligation to help those less fortunate in our community,” said Mr. Ashley M. Norris, Vice Chairman of the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee. “Many of our Irish ancestors came here to escape hunger and homelessness because of the great potato famine. Without the help of the church and the local people of Savannah, they would have ended up in a similar situation to clients that come in and out of Union Mission. Union Mission does an incredible job fighting to end homelessness. We encourage all to join us in support of this worthy cause; as it is our civic and Christian duty to help the less fortunate."

Union Mission’s Grace House provides 32-beds for men experiencing homelessness as well as 28 transitional housing units for graduates of the Emergency Housing Program and 12-beds for previously incarcerated individuals to promote successful transitions to the community. Union Mission provides basic human needs services such as housing, food and clothing for up to 90-days with the overall goal of helping clients end their homelessness. An array of individualized services also support stability and independence, including: access to mental healthcare, employment support and specialized training, transportation and community referrals.
