Whitney Shephard Elected President of Georgia Planning Association

Whitney Shephard recently began a two-year term as President of the
Georgia Chapter of the American Planning Association. Ms. Shephard is
President and Co-founder of Transport Studio, LLC, a transportation
engineering, planning, and public policy firm headquartered in
Savannah. Ms. Shephard served as the Coastal Region District Director
for GPA from 2014 to 2021, when she was elected President of the
organization. She serves on the federal Planners Advocacy Network and
on the Georgia Policy and Advocacy Committee.

With her husband, Josh Yates, Ms. Shephard co-owns Green Truck
Neighborhood Pub, a Savannah restaurant that features local and
organic farmers and craft American brewers.  Together, they support
the local food movement and a variety of community organizations.
Whitney is Past President of the Metropolitan Savannah Rotary Club and
currently serves Rotary District 6920 as Assistant Governor. She
co-chairs the Savannah Chatham Mobility Advisory Committee and is a
member of the Chatham County Housing Coalition Executive Committee.
She is a 2014 graduate of Leadership Southeast Georgia and holds
degrees in Architecture and Civil Engineering from the Georgia
Institute of Technology.
