WJCL 22, the Hearst Television-owned ABC affiliate for Savannah, Georgia and the South Carolina Lowcountry, has named Marvis Herring as its new 5:00P.M. co-anchor.  Herring joins the current 5:00 team which includes anchor Riley Miller and StormTracker 22 Chief Meteorologist Jeremy Nelson. 

“Marvis is a dynamic, veteran journalist who will use his expertise to deliver clear, critical information to Savannah and the South Carolina Lowcountry,” said WJCL 22 President and General Manager, Ben Hart. “He also has a passion for community service, so he’s the perfect fit for our growing news team”.

“We are thrilled to have Marvis join the WJCL 22 News team,” added Will Dillard, the station’s News Director. “Throughout his career he’s covered some of the biggest stories in the country and will now bring that experience to tell the stories of our Southeast Georgia and Lowcountry communities.”

Herring joins WJCL 22 from Hearst-owned sister station WLKY in Louisville, Kentucky where he was the Weekend Morning Anchor.  Prior to that, he reported and anchored at WOOD TV8 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Herring was nominated for a Michigan Emmy Award in 2019 for an exclusive report of a mother who survived medical decapitation. He earned a Michigan Association of Broadcasting Award while attending Grand Valley State University.
