Forsyth Farmers’ Market Reaches Goal for New Truck
Monday, April 11th, 2022
Forsyth Farmersí Market (FFM), a local non-profit organization that seeks to promote a local food system in Savannah, is excited to announce they met their goal of $150,000 in less than three months for their ìKeep On Truckiníî campaign to purchase a new farm truck.
Forsyth Farmersí Market launched the campaign in January to raise money for a new farm truck for the Farm Truck 912 program. This program is the mobile farmersí market that brings fresh produce to the communities of Savannah. The current truck is a 24 year old wonder bread truck and even though it has been good to the program and the community, it is time for her to retire. The staff and board members are very excited to get the new truck and be able to expand operations.
The new truck will have enhanced features that will allow Forsyth Farmersí Market to enter new neighborhoods, participate in more community events and serve more people. Forsyth Farmersí Market hopes to have the new truck up and running by July of this year.
Louis Brody, chair of the capital campaign said, ìThe speed in which we raised these funds is a testament to how our community views the work of Forsyth Farmersí Market and its Farm Truck 912 program. We are thankful for the generous support that has been shown by so many.
