Greenbriar Children’s Center, which manages two early learning centers for children ages six months to five years, has announced that they will be operating a Summer Transition Program for rising kindergarteners at its Windy’s Preschool location on Tattnall Street in Savannah,

“The Summer Transition Program, also known as STP, is a free six week program to help children who will be attending kindergarten in the Fall and who did not attend a Georgia Pre-K program or a Head Start program, or who did not attend for a full year”, said Gena P. Taylor, Executive Director of Greenbriar.  “A child may also attend if he or she has attended a Georgia Pre-K program or a Head Start program but their current teacher feels that the child requires additional classroom time to prepare him or her for success”,  added Miss Taylor.

The program will be taught by a Georgia Pre-K teacher, as well as an Assistant Teacher.  A Transition Coach will also be available to assist families to find the help they need to prepare their child for kindergarten and to locate additional community resources which they may need to help their child to be successful.

For information on the program, please contact Greenbriar Children’s Center at (912) 234-3431 or email [email protected].
