Reddick Guitars, a locally-owned, Savannah-based company, recently announced the upcoming release of the second generation of the patented Voyager Modular Guitar. The Voyager 2022 series are handmade convertible guitars with sleek designs that offer a variety of sounds with interchangeable electronics modules. This allows quick and easy transitions on stage and removes the need to carry multiple instruments to achieve a range of musical styles.

Originally patented in 2021 by Ian Reddick, an Industrial Design graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design, the Voyager officially debuted last year. Designed for professional stage and studio musicians, it offers quick-change electronic components for conversion to another sound palette onstage without the need for tools.

Now in its second year of sales, the newest Voyager model offers new options for function and aesthetics. These options include colorful finishes like Crimson and Obsidian, whammy bars, and high-end electronics.

“It’s a guitar that expands the player’s expressive tool kit,” said Reddick. “With the versatility provided by our interchangeable pickup modules, we eliminate the need to carry multiple guitars. It’s like getting two guitars for the price of one. And of course, it’s essential that it looks, plays, and sounds awesome.”

Voyager guitars are locally handmade by Ian Reddick from high-quality materials and components. Several options for woods and components are available, and orders for fully custom builds will be accepted later this year.
