The impending sale of a large chunk of the Savannah Mall property presents tremendous opportunities for reimagining a large portion of the Abercorn Street corridor on the Southside.
It’s important to remember, of course, that the auction will be a private transaction. The general public will have chances to weigh in, and the City of Savannah and the Metropolitan Planning Commission will obviously have considerable oversight, but the property is already zoned for a wide range of commercial uses.
