WJCL 22 Names Olivia Wile as Weekend Morning News Anchor.

WJCL 22, the Hearst Television-owned ABC affiliate for Savannah, Georgia and the South Carolina Lowcountry, has named Olivia Wile as weekend morning news anchor. She will join Meteorologist Melissa Hall for news and weather for Savannah and the Lowcountry beginning July 9th. Wile will also report three days a week.
Ben Hart, WJCL 22 President and General Manager said: “Olivia will bring a fresh infusion of community-based curiosity to Savannah and the Lowcountry. She has already demonstrated that she is dedicated to make the local connections that will break important news for our community.”
Will Dillard, the station’s News Director added: “We are really excited about having Olivia join the WJCL 22 News staff. She will be a great addition to our already strong team, and her love for politics will be a great asset to our Commitment 2022 coverage during this dynamic political year.”
“I am so excited to join the WJCL 22 news team as an anchor and reporter,” Wile stated. “I grew up a swimmer, so I am very excited to live near the water and to tell the stories of Southeast Georgia and the Lowcountry.”
Wile joins WJCL 22 from Charter Communications in Columbus, Ohio where she was a Multimedia Journalist after starting out as an Associate Producer. Prior to that, she worked with the Ohio News Media Association and was the Student Managing Editor of The Pulse at the University of Findlay where she studied Communication and Journalism.
