THE BOOK: "The Savannah Gondolier" is the second book in the Savannah-based romance series "The Saints of Savannah," written by local author Leigh Ebberwein. The series demonstrates the true importance of friendship, the unbreakable bond of family, the impact of reckless choices, and the redeeming power of love.

"The Saints of Savannah" series follows the story of a dynamic group of six friends who call themselves "The Tribe." The main character in the second novel is Maggie, who owns an adventure kayak business and travels to Italy to help a "friend" who was once a gondolier open his business. The novel mentions many familiar scenes on Tybee Island and in Savannah while focusing on Southern values such as faith, family, and friendship.

An alumna of St. Vincent's Academy, Leigh weaves in Catholic motifs and experiences of growing up in Savannah into her novels which delve into the bond between friends and family. Leigh and her family of nine live in Savannah where she feels inspired by her family, strong faith, the tight-knit community, rich history, and breathtaking views of the city. Her loveable characters have already found a welcoming fan base among Savannah’s fiction lovers.

Leigh’s publisher is Old Fort Press, a company she founded. Her books are available through independent bookstores and online at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other outlets in paperback and e-book versions.
