“We may have lost our sight, but never our Vision”, the motto of the Savannah Center for Blind and Low Vision, was never more true than it was last Friday afternoon when the center kicked off the season of Dining in the Dark, with their annual Vision Quest Luncheon.

“The community gathered to champion our cause of teaching confidence and independence for our many neighbors who live every day with severe vision loss,” shared Lois Modell, SCBLV Executive Director. “We all look forward to being together for our next Dining in the Dark on January 26th, 2023. Even more exciting is our new event location at Enmarket Arena. Savannah’s newest venue is hosting this unique event that supports our visually impaired community,” Lois added.

“As a new board member, I am very excited to be associated with the Center and their entire team, Lois, Leslie, and others, as they are truly making a difference in people’s lives. On behalf of the entire staff at Enmarket Arena, we are looking forward to welcoming their annual fundraiser to our facility. It is going to be something special, and we are proud to be a part of it!” said Derek Goldfarb, Enmarket Arena’s Regional Director of Partnerships.

The event offers guests a peek into an unfamiliar world of total blindness and helps them to discover a new, deeper understanding of vision loss. Dining in the Dark would not be possible without the support of the Savannah SWAT Team. This volunteer team helps escort the guest and serves dinner in a complete darkness, offering a one of a kind experience.
