OVER THE MOON Diaper Bank is holding our 3rd annual Community Diaper Drive, September 18th through September 30th, 2022. You may help by dropping off diapers, training pants, or unscented baby wipes at any of the 20 public donation collection barrel sites throughout the Coastal Empire, and you can see the list of donation sites on our website (http://www.otmdiaperbank.org/events/).

OTM’s donation wish lists are also available online through Target and Amazon, and the items ship directly to our campaign host site which are the racquetball courts at the Jewish Education Alliance. We also accept monetary donations through Venmo – our handle is @overthemoon_sav and bulk items purchased will be the most needed.

1 in 3 families experience diaper poverty and cannot afford to buy basic hygiene essentials. Safety-net programs, such as WIC and Food Stamps awarded through SNAP, do NOT cover the cost of diapers, which are taxed items in the state of Georgia. The price of disposable diapers has risen over 20% in 2022.

OVER THE MOON’s Diaper Drive coincides with National Diaper Need Awareness Week which draws attention to the issue of diaper need in the U.S. Last fall, OTM collected over 60,000 diapers during our Community Diaper Drive and has distributed more than double that number to Coastal Georgia residents during the pandemic to more fully help community neighbors in need.

Savannah’s OVER THE MOON is a volunteer-run 501(c)3 nonprofit in Coastal Georgia which provides diaper bundles, period supplies, and incontinence items through partner agencies, at community giveaway events, and directly to families as-needed. We aim to end diaper and period poverty because we believe in dignity for all, no matter how big or small.

This diaper drive is unlike any other campaign in Coastal Georgia. Over 40 businesses, organizations, neighborhoods, schools, and individuals are raising awareness of diaper poverty in the Savannah metro area during National Diaper Need Awareness Week and collecting donations for families throughout the Coastal Georgia region.

Come and take a look at the generous donations collected during the Community Diaper Drive. Meet OVER THE MOON hosts, donors, and organizers who support our neighbors in need. Volunteers are welcome to stay and wrap bundles on site or take some with you to help with upcoming distributions.
