Savannah Country Day to Host Community Speaker, "Normal Isn't Normal"
Monday, September 19th, 2022

The Savannah Country Day School Learning Support Department is pleased to host renowned speaker and learning differences advocate Jonathan Mooney on Wednesday, September 21 at 6:00PM in Jelks Auditorium. Jonathan Mooney has carried - he might well say battled - diagnoses of ADHD and dyslexia through multiple schools and multiple frustrations to an honors degree in English from Brown University, the publication of three very successful books, the creation of award-winning entrepreneurial and philanthropic foundations, and a position as a much-sought-after speaker at multiple conferences and schools, recently including the 2021 SAIS Academic Support Conference, Miami Country Day School, and Milton Academy. Along this journey, Jonathan came to realize just how narrow and artificial a definition of "normal" can be, especially after he toured the country finding an incredible range of diverse and gifted individuals.
We hope that by the end of Jonathan's talk, several members of the audience will have re-examined and perhaps jettisoned their current definition of "normal". The presentation is free and open to the public.
