Savannah Exchange Club Presents 2022 First Responders of the Year Awards

The following Chatham Emergency Services Team Members have been selected for the 2022 Awards by the Savannah Exchange Club:
Volunteer Firefighter of the Year: Delton B. Rushing
Rookie Firefighter of the Year: John M. Chmielewski
Professional Firefighter of the Year: Andrew Lee
Paramedic of the Year: Matthew Creel
The awards will be presented at the Savannah Exchange Club luncheon on Monday, October 10th.
The meeting will be at the Banquet Hall of Carey Hilliard’s on Abercorn (rear building). The luncheon starts at 11:30am, with the meeting and awards presentations beginning at 12:00pm. The awards presentation will last until 1:00pm. Award Recipients will be available for interviews after the award presentations.
Chief Chuck Kearns of Chatham Emergency Services said, “We are humbled by these honors and greatly appreciate the Exchange Club for recognizing our hard-working Paramedic and Firefighters for the honorable and dangerous service they provide to our community. First Responders lay their lives on the line for strangers every time they turn on their lights and sirens to respond to someone in need. We are very proud of all of our team members.”
