Friday, October 21st, 2022
Spandrel Development Partners announced the official opening of Aquatera, a new, Class-A, multi-family housing community at 55 Gardner Drive, on October 19. The company celebrated the announcement with a ribbon cutting that included elected officials and area business leaders.
“We have been looking forward to celebrating the official opening of Aquatera,” Emanuel Neuman, co-founding principal of Spandrel Development Partners, said. “This has been a project that is very special to all of us at Spandrel. We have been dedicated to making sure that it is consistent with Hilton Head Island’s unique and special character, and that it helps to fill a need for more housing options.”
Ian Levine, co-founding principal of Spandrel Development Partners, noted that “Aquatera is a great place to call home. It has the welcoming coastal touches that you would expect on Hilton Head, from spacious, well-appointed floor plans, a majority of which have screened-in balconies and patios to market curated amenities including central greenspace with fountain and hammock garden, onsite programming, and full clubhouse. With all this on site plus its island location and direct access to local bike trails, Aquatera provides its residents with access to the best of Hilton Head Island on and off site.”
According to Bill Miles, president and CEO of the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce, “Aquatera is a first-class project that will provide much-needed additional housing options for Hilton Head Island residents. They listened to the desires of nearby residents during the planning process and that speaks volumes about their desire to be part of the community.”
Aquatera is just minutes from the beach and less than a mile from two of Hilton Head’s numerous golf courses. With its beautiful grounds and natural buffers that respect the island’s natural beauty, the new apartment community features 260 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartment homes, each with a screened-in, balcony porch so that residents can embrace the coastal lifestyle. Aquatera’s rental prices start at $1,700 per month. Five percent of Aquatera’s housing is targeted for teachers, firemen, police, and other workers who live on Hilton Head Island as designated Work Force Housing (WFH). WFH shall be defined as households making under 120% of Area Median Income. “
Built by Chancy and Theys Construction for Spandrel Development Partners, Aquatera’s refreshing and down-to-earth, pet-friendly, and secure apartment community features tailored design, spacious floorplans, modern features, and numerous amenities. The amenities include two pickleball courts, a 3,300 square-foot pool with lap lanes and sunning ledge, a center green with an event lawn, a 24/7 fitness center with cardio and strength equipment, fire pits and grilling stations, hammock garden, a clubroom lounge with televisions and plush seating, enclosed garages, ample surface parking, and more.
