Step One Automotive Group presents their Local Hero Award to Kimberly Billings of Safe Haven Statesboro. The award will be presented during their 34th monthly Grab-n-Go Meal event for first responders on Friday, October 21st from 11am to 2:00pm at South Savannah Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Fiat’s location at 8701 Abercorn Street, Savannah GA.

"Each year in October, advocates, survivors, and supporters recognize October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Step One Automotive Group has the great pleasure of honoring Mrs. Kimberly Billings as the October Step One Local Hero. As part of her job, Kimberly does court accompaniments, helps with protective orders, and acts as a liaison between judges, attorneys and law enforcement. She also leads training programs in the workplace, for law enforcement, and for churches and civic organizations,” shares Step One Automotive Group Marketing Manager Maja Ciric. “Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women. In the United States, a woman is assaulted or beaten every 9 seconds and every year 1 in 3 women who is a victim of homicide is murdered by her current or former partner. Together we would like to bring more awareness to the critical issue."

Our mission is to serve, strengthen and support adult and child victims of domestic violence through the provision of emergency shelter and community based services in the six counties we serve. For the past 18 years, I have worked to bring awareness to this epidemic.
