World Trade Center Savannah to Host Two Global Education Programs in October

World Trade Center Savannah (WTCSav) will host two Global Education Programs in October. The first, “Discover Business Opportunities in Sub-Saharan Africa,” will take place Wednesday, Oct. 12, 10 – 11 a.m. virtually. The second, “Passport to Exports: Launching a Successful Export Business,” will take place virtually Thursday, Oct. 27, 10 a.m. – noon.
The first program will focus on business opportunities in Sub-Saharan Africa. Participants will learn how United States resources can help a company enter the African market. Presenters include the U.S. Trade and Development Agency Regional Director for Sub-Saharan Africa Heather Lanigan, country representative for West Africa Joshua Egba, country manager for West Africa Jillian Foerster and U.S. Commercial Service Counselor in Accra and liaison to the Ivory Coast Dean Matlock.
Registrants will also learn how to participate in WTCSav’s April 2023 trade mission to Accra, Ghana, for the World Trade Centers Association 53rd General Assembly. To register, please visit https://www.wtcsavannah.org/events/business-opportunities-with-sub-saharan-africa/
The second program will focus on how the U.S. Commercial Service can help companies export products and services globally. The conversation will be led by U.S. Commercial Service Atlanta Director George Tracy and Savannah Director Todd Gerken.
To qualify for participation in “Passport to Exports: Launching a Successful Export Business,” companies must be 95 percent American-owned and formed under U.S. law. A minimum of 51 percent of the product or service content should be American (based on cost of goods sold). If the company is interested in exporting another company’s products and services, it must have documented exclusively to do so (applies to consultants, trading companies and other intermediaries). The company should also have a website that details the products and services the company wishes to export.
