The Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club announced today the addition of two new members to the tournament’s advisory board, Brad Brookshire with Great Oaks Bank and Chase Nelson with Stage Front. The prestigious board has been in place since the inaugural tournament in 2018, with members serving a minimum term of two years. Advisory board members offer their time, talent, and resources in support of the Club Car Championship’s sales efforts within the local and regional business communities.
Brad Brookshire is the executive vice president and chief risk officer for Great Oaks Bank. He is a pillar of the business community and has been in the Savannah banking space for nearly 20 years. Brad and his wife Carrie have two children, ages 12 and 9. Brad is also involved with several other local organizations, including Xcel Mentoring. In his free time, Brad enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf.
Chase Nelson is president and owner of Stage Front, a Savannah-based commercial audiovisual services firm with offices in Charleston and Atlanta. Chase and his wife have three children, ages 16, 13, and 10. When Chase isn’t in the office or traveling for work, he enjoys time with his family, youth sports, golf, yard projects, and anything involving water along Georgia’s coastal area landscape.
The Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club Advisory Board members include: Brad Brookshire (Great Oaks Bank), Dylan Cox(Morris & Templeton Insurance), Carol Coppola (Regions Bank), Kyle Evans (REDCON Solutions Group), Sam Evans (Hancock Askew & Co. LLP), Megan Johnson (Raymond James & Associates, Inc.), LeAndrea Mikell (Savannah State University), Chase Nelson (Stage Front), Nick Puhala (Sterling Seacrest Pritchard), Bryan Schivera (Oliver Maner LLP), and Ansley Threlkeld (Hall Gilligan Roberts & Shanlever LLC).
“The tournament’s advisory board has enjoyed tremendous growth since its inception in 2018,” said Advisory Board Chairman Nick Puhala. “Our board includes community business leaders whose positive professional achievements have translated towards making a substantial impact towards the growth of the tournament. We know hosting a professional sporting event in our city is important for continued overall economic impact. This allows us to make a meaningful contribution to the Club Car Championship and Savannah.”
In related news, the Club Car Championship’s Skyway Capital Markets Pro-Am—the tournament’s official Pro-Am—has reached a sell out for a third consecutive year. The Pro-Am is held annually on Wednesday of tournament week and features top Korn Ferry Tour players from the Club Car Championship’s field of competitors teamed up with amateur pro-am participants.
“The level of support the business community, both local and out of market, provides to this tournament is inspiring,” said Tournament Director Cheyenne Overby. “Reaching a sellout for a third straight year is a testament to that support and the world-class pro-am experience guests receive at The Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club.”
The 2023 Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club is March 20-26, in Savannah, GA, at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club’s acclaimed Deer Creek Course.
