Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club 3rd Annual Building Great Futures Telethon

Staff Report

Thursday, November 17th, 2022

Since its inception, the annual Building Great Futures Telethon has raised over tens of thousands of dollars and this year’s goal is set to surpass that. FCBGC is a youth-serving organization that provides over 400 hundred of Savannah's kids the opportunity for a great future daily by offering safe places, caring mentors and life-enhancing programs focused on academics, health and leadership. This year, the Building Great Futures Telethon has partnered with many of Savannah’s leading businesses to organize an online auction being held in support of the telethon. This new component of the telethon is an exciting addition where auction items like limousine services or a Tybee Beach Rental were donated. To bid on the many auction items, you can go to the following link, https://www.32auctions.com/frankcallensavannah.

As mentioned, the broadcast of the telethon will be televised on WJCL across Savannah, the Coastal Empire and through the Low Country. You can also access the telethon on the FCBGC’s Facebook page (@fcbgc), as it will be

streaming live there as well. Local talent and personalities, plus leading local musicians and performers will make their way to Georgia Southern University’s Armstrong Center on Abercorn Street, volunteering their time to take part in the event. It’s a celebration of the dedication and commitment to furthering FCBGC’s goal to service over 1,000 kids per day.

This annual fundraiser helps FCBGC support their mission to enable all young to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible community leaders, especially those who need it most. Such a significant event would not be possible without the support of local artists, personalities, and talent who are invited each year to participate in the telethon. Not to mention, the online auction will feature some great finds donated by our generous community partners.
