The Dewitt Tilton Group, an award-winning commercial and industrial construction company in the Southeast, earned a second Georgia Business Journal Best of Georgia award in the Commercial Contractor – Best of Georgia category. The statewide periodical covers business, economic development, local politics and education news.

Nominations for the award are submitted by the public, followed by tens of thousands of people who then vote on candidates in the listed categories. Neutral third-party firms, including the Better Business Bureau, vet the final vote tally for accuracy. Any multiple votes, irregularities, or other questions are determined by Georgia Business Journal staff before the winners are announced. This is the second year in a row Dewitt Tilton Group earned this award.

“It’s a real honor to receive this award. We’ve put in countless hours to build our business from a strong foundation up, one block at a time. Our team has continued to grow, keeping true to our mission, work ethic and values, and remaining committed to enriching our community one build at a time," said Chris Tilton, president and co-founder.

Dewitt Tilton Group has built several high-profile business buildings in the Savannah and Pooler area over the last few years, including The Shops at Lakeside Village (new Dunkin’ concept and AT&T retail outlets), the Kansa Center mixed-use development, Pooler Car Wash, Mint Car Wash, and the Berwick retail building. Giving back is a priority for the company’s culture. Throughout the year, the Dewitt Tilton Group supports numerous causes, including The Ronald McDonald House, first responders and police, food pantries for children and more.

“Our company’s main goal is to take care of our clients, so it feels great to be recognized publically on a statewide level for the work we do in our local community,” Tilton added.

Dewitt Tilton Group has also been honored multiple times by Star Building Systems, including regional wins and numerous Master Builder Award honors, as well as Savannah Morning News and Connect Savannah.

More than 20 business, educational and cultural community categories are awarded each year, including Arts & Entertainment, Beauty & Spa, Business & Creative, Health & Medical, Education & Childcare, Manufacturing, Legal Services and others. Depending on the size of the market sector, the Georgia Business Journal includes the segments: “Best,” “Regional Winners” and “Honorable Mentions.”
