Presented by AIA Savannah and AIA Golden Isles, the South Georgia Design Awards Banquet will be held on Thursday, January 12th, 2023 at 6pm. The banquet will take place at Vic’s on the River, located at 26 East Bay Street. The event has been made possible by presenting sponsor RPI Roofing, supporting sponsor Corporate Environments, and friend of AIA sponsor BlueLime Studio.

The South Georgia Design awards are open to architects and students who are members of AIA Savannah and AIA Golden Isles. To be considered, submitted works must have been completed and occupied between January 1, 2016, and June 31, 2022. Submissions for the Student Project Award were the work of either a current student in Georgia or South Carolina or one that graduated in 2022.

The Design Awards Banquet is being held to celebrate the achievements of the 2022-2023 South Georgia Design Awards winners. Submissions were reviewed by a common jury of distinguished guests connected to all facets of the design profession. The jurors sought submissions that were exemplary in their typology, technical advancement, innovation, economy, sustainability, and other achievements.

Categories for the Design Awards include Built, Renovation/Restoration, Residential, and Student Project. The following awards will be presented: Honor Award (represents the highest level of achievement), Merit Award (represents distinguished achievement), Citation (represents exemplary achievement in a specific aspect of a project). Winners were notified on December 20.
