Hinesville Sees Drop in November Unemployment Rate

Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said Thursday that Hinesville recorded an unemployment rate of 3 percent in November, down two-tenths of a percent over the month. A year ago, the rate was 2.9 percent.

"We are seeing job numbers continue to rise across the state as Georgians secure employment,” said Commissioner Butler. “Unemployment rates also dropped in regions throughout Georgia in November as we entered the holiday employment period.”

The labor force decreased in Hinesville by 100 and ended the month with 34,293. That number decreased by 492 when compared to November of 2021.

Hinesville finished the month with 33,276 employed residents. That number decreased by 1 over the month and went down 495 when compared to the same time a year ago.

Hinesville ended November with 21,600 jobs, an all-time high. Jobs were up 100 from October to November and rose 200 when compared to November 2021.

The number of unemployment claims went up by 9 percent in Hinesville in November. When compared to last November, claims were up by about 1 percent.

Employ Georgia, the GDOL’s online job listing service at employgeorgia.com showed about 484 active job postings in Hinesville for November.
