The Landings Art Association (LAA) has announced their Annual Penny Day Thompson Grants for the 2022-2023 SYA contribution of $2850 will enable each of 19 art teachers in Title I Savannah Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS) elementary schools (K-5) to purchase $150 worth of classroom materials to enhance their curriculum. The LAA made an additional contribution of $1000 to support the Telfair Museums' Children's Art Museum, a re-imagining of the former ArtZeum, to become a cutting-edge art space for children.

These contributions are made possible by generous support given during the LAA annual Spring Art Show Silent Auction. All proceeds from this year's event will provide the funds for the 2023-24 LAA Community Outreach program. The Spring Art Show and Silent Auction will be held on Monday, May 2 from 5-8 PM in the Palmetto Ball Room. All artwork to be auctioned will be donated by LAA members with proceeds specifically to benefit LAA's arts education community projects.

In addition to Penny Day Thompson Grants to Title I teachers and the Telfair Museums' Children's Art Museum, LAA has most recently supported Savannah Arts Academy and Bethesda Academy as well as numerous other community organizations.
