New Hampstead High School 2024 Teacher of the Year Brittny Woods has been selected for the "Punk Rock Unity" Project – a program started by a high school English teacher in Jacksonville, Florida.  That teacher, Aaron Leatherbarrow, is known on social media as the PunkRockTeacher and began this project to recognize outstanding teachers who go above and beyond to make a difference in their student's lives.

Brittny Woods was selected for her dedication to creating engaging and enriching learning experiences for her students, as well as her commitment to supporting her students' social and emotional well-being. She received a $500.00 grant and a box of Larabars to support her class and care for her students. The grant will be used to purchase supplies and materials for Ms. Woods' choral and theater projects, ensuring that students have access to the resources they need to thrive.

New Hampstead High Principal Tawn Foltz says, “New Hampstead is committed to providing the highest quality education and support to all of our students, and we are proud to have teachers like Ms. Woods on our team who share this commitment."
