The annual Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools Teacher of the Year Gala was held Friday, February 24, 2023, at the Marriott Savannah Riverfront.  Fifty-six teachers were honored from nearly every school in the District and Raegan Dillon of STEM Academy at Bartlett Middle School was named the 2024 Teacher of the Year.

As a representative of the many quality teachers across the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System, the District's Teacher of the Year is honored with the distinction of having the Flag of Learning and Liberty proudly displayed at their school. In addition to leading the SCCPSS Professional Senate for Savannah-Chatham educators, the District Teacher of the Year acts as an ambassador visiting local schools throughout the year, taking part in school board meetings, and representing the district at various events throughout the area.  Ms. Dillon will also continue for consideration in the state-level Teacher of the Year program.

Raegan Dillon graduated from Berry College with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education.  Following that, she received her Master of Education degree from Georgia Southern University, and finally her Specialist degree in Instructional Technology from the University of West Georgia.

Mrs. Dillon spent many years teaching reading, writing, science, gifted enrichment, and STEM in grades kindergarten through fifth, before moving to middle school.  She is currently teaching at The STEM Academy at Bartlett Middle.  She is an engineering and technology teacher in the Career Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) classroom.  Her courses include underwater robotics, LEGO robotics, and engineering.
