Step One Automotive Group announces Savannah Center for Blind and Low Vision as their March Local Hero on Wednesday, March 1st at 12 noon at the Step One Auto South Savannah Store located at 8701 Abercorn St, Savannah, GA 31406.
“Since April 2020, Step One Grab and Go Meals for Local Heroes was dedicated to bringing our community together, showing appreciation and supporting local businesses. Together with Savannah Food Truck force we served 3,300 delicious meals to first responders, military, veterans, and medical workers and honored fourteen incredible individuals and organizations. From veterans, police officers, EMS, medical workers, SWAT team members, single moms, cancer survivors, social workers, and volunteers, we put a spotlight on the dedicated givers in our community,” states STEP ONE Marketing Manager Maja Ciric.
“Moving forward in 2023, Step One Team is sharing the story, volunteering and bringing awareness to incredible people, organizations that are making an impact every day. Every month, we feature, interview and volunteer at different non-profit groups and are proud to announce that Savannah Center for Blind and Low Vision is our March Local Hero,” adds Ciric. “The SCBLV team is a group of incredible people, committed to helping people and making a huge difference in their lives. We had a chance to work with them and volunteer for the center and see how dedicated they are. I cannot even imagine how many people with visual impairment would not be able to live a functional life, if they did not have access to services provided by the Center. It is truly life changing!”
SCBLV is Southeast Georgia’s fully accredited, community facility providing rehabilitation services for individuals of all ages who are blind or visually impaired. Since 1963, the Center has grown to serve as a model of innovative services throughout 29 counties in the southeast portion of the state and serves more than 475 people each year.
