Wednesday, June 7th, 2023
The Savannah Book Festival (SBF) and E. Shaver Booksellers invite the community to an evening with Harrison Scott Key, in conversation with Amy Paige Condon and Lauren Key at Service Brewing Company on Sunday, June 11 at 6:30 PM.
Local author, Harrison Scott Key’s newest book, “How to Stay Married: The Most Insane Love Story Ever Told” tells the hilarious, shocking, spiritual journey of his marriage falling apart, surviving infidelity and the power of forgiveness. His previous works include “Congratulations, Who Are you Again?”, and “The World’s Largest Man”.
“We are thrilled to partner with local independent bookseller E. Shaver to offer this literary event to our community. This exciting summer event with Harrison, Amy and Lauren celebrates the written word and promotes reading, writing and civil conversation, the SBF mission. SBF is pleased to increase the opportunities to engage with authors outside of our annual four-day Festival, thanks to partnerships with E. Shaver Booksellers,” says Executive Director, Tara Setter.
Harrison’s humor and nonfiction have appeared in The Best American Travel Writing, Oxford American, Outside, The New York Times, The Bitter Southerner, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, Town & Country, The Mockingbird, Salon, Savannah Magazine, Reader’s Digest, Image, Southern Living, Gulf Coast, and Creative Nonfiction. He holds an M.F.A. in creative nonfiction and a Ph.D. in playwriting and has worked at SCAD, where he’s held appointments as chair of liberal arts, professor of English, professor of writing, and executive dean. Harrison has won the Thurber Prize for American Humor. He lives in Savannah, Georgia, with his wife and three children.
