Thursday, June 1st, 2023
Two Rivers Health Clinic, which provides uninsured Effingham County adults with primary medical care and management of chronic diseases, will celebrate its recent move into new quarters at United Way of the Coastal Empire’s Effingham Service Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The public is invited to attend the event at 711 Zitterour Drive in Rincon at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 1.
The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce is partnering in the ribbon-cutting event. Light refreshments will be served after the brief formal program.
“We are delighted Two Rivers Health Clinic, which fills a critical gap in health care for our residents, is now located in the United Way of the Coastal Empire’s Effingham County Service Center,” says Kim Dennis, Effingham County area director for the United Way. “We share a commitment with the clinic to improve the lives of our neighbors and provide a safety net for the most vulnerable.”
“We are grateful to the community for coming together to make this move possible,” says Amber Fordham, executive director of the clinic. “The new quarters will be a big help in our mission to bring equal access to health care to all Effingham County residents.”
Susan Harrison, the nurse practitioner who leads the care team at the clinic, praised the new location as convenient and already well-known to many of Two Rivers’ clients.
Two Rivers Health Clinic has served uninsured Effingham County adults ages 18-64 since its founding in 2015. It opened in its new facilities on Thursday, May 25, making local nonprofit human services more accessible for individuals and families in the community.
