1540 Room Earns 2023 Wine Spectator Restaurant Award of Excellence
Thursday, July 13th, 2023
1540 Room, a lively Lowcountry sourced and award-winning restaurant located inside The DeSoto, has been honored for its outstanding wine program in Wine Spectator’s 2023 Restaurant Awards.
Launched in 1981, the Restaurant Awards represent the world’s only program focused exclusively on restaurant wine service. They are assigned on three levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence and the Grand Award, with 2,001; 1,411; and 93 winners this year in each category respectively.
“Every wine has a story,” says 1540 Room’s world-class Sommelier, Andrew Noye. “We love to share about who brought the wines on our list into being and what truly makes each wine unique. We are honored to be able to offer such a distinctive collection of wines here in Savannah and to be awarded by Wine Spectator.”
With over 20 years of experience and education in the culinary industry, Andrew brings his expertise and passion for all things food and wine to 1540 Room by curating a selection of wines from across the globe, focusing on small grower producers with rich histories and stories associated with each. Many of which have a personal connection to him.
