Greenbriar Children’s Center, a non-profit in Savannah serving children and families for over 74 years, announces its 2023 partnership with Savannah’s Boat Parade of Lights, a holiday tradition for over 20 years in Savannah.

“The Savannah Boat Parade of Lights is an event that both local residents and tourists look forward to at the holidays,” said Gena P. Taylor, Executive Director of Greenbriar Children’s Center. “We are thrilled this year to be a beneficiary once again, and we are grateful to the Parade Chairperson, delylah Thompson and her committee, as well as the boat captains, for their efforts to make this enjoyable for the community and beneficial for Greenbriar’s programs for children.”

The Savannah Boat Parade of Lights will be held this year on Saturday, November 25th from 7-9 pm. The parade, historically held on Thanksgiving weekend, marks the beginning of the holiday season in Savannah.

“The Parade of Lights, led by the Georgia Queen riverboat, will begin its voyage on the Eastern Wharf dock at the Thompson Savannah Hotel, our premier sponsor for the event” said delylah Thompson, Parade Chairperson. “The parade will then continue west down the river past the Convention Center, to the Talmadge Bridge, circling to pass the Plant Riverside District & River Street, passing the Eastern Wharf Dock to be judged, and repeating the circle for a second time, ending back at the Eastern Wharf Dock. “The cost to cast a vote is only $1.00”, said Ms. Thompson. “It is important to note that all proceeds will be donated to Greenbriar Children’s Center.
