Brightside Advocacy to Host Inaugural Creating Brighter Futures Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Celebration

Wednesday, September 13th, 2023

Brightside Child and Family Advocacy is hosting its first annual Creating Brighter Futures Award Ceremony and Cocktail Celebration on Wednesday, October 4th from 5:30-7:30 at The Palmetto Club at The Landings.

Throughout the night, Brightside will be honoring those who have made a profound impact on the lives of youth in foster care. In addition,  Brightside will be presenting the Judge John Beam Scholarship to a deserving youth pursuing their dreams of post-secondary education. This inaugural event is dedicated to positively impacting the lives of youth exiting foster care by raising funds and awareness about a cause that truly matters.

Young adults exiting foster care in Chatham County face immense obstacles on their journey to adulthood. They have experienced instability and trauma during their time in foster care, and as they reach adulthood, they are thrust into independence without the support system they desperately need. The consequences of this lack of support are profound and alarming resulting in higher rates of mental illness and drug abuse, higher risk of homelessness, and fewer high school graduates. With your support, we will provide youth in foster care with the support and resources they need to flourish, unlocking their potential and guiding them toward brighter futures.” - Kate Blair, Executive Director.

Join Brightside on October 4th for a memorable night of hope, transformation, and the power of giving. Enjoy an open bar, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and the opportunity to honor extraordinary people making a difference in the lives of children in foster care here in Chatham County.
