The Southern Wings Chapter of Women in Aviation International (WAI) has announced that a free program is offered to local girls ages 8 to 18 years to introduce youth to the possibilities available in a career in aviation.
The day’s activities will take place at Sheltair Aviation, 100 Eddie Jungemann Drive, Savannah from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday, September 23, 2023. More than 250 girls along with their chaperones are expected to attend.
“We are excited to host this FREE event, packed with activities and inspiring experiences to empower girls to explore the amazing world of aviation.” says WAI Southern Wings Chapter Girls in Aviation Day Chair, Lee Ann Norris. “Students will be able to participate in hands‐on activities including flight simulators, aircraft displays, see a drone demonstration and have the chance to meet female pilots, engineers, mechanics and more.
The Southern Wings Chapter will join Women in Aviation International chapters around the world on September 23, 2023, for an outreach event to inspire the next generation of women in aviation. Chapters all over the world are putting on their own, unique programs.
